Eighty-Sixed in LA

One of the most fascinating aspects of Los Angeles is the abundance of abandoned objects and spaces that can be found throughout the city. Left behind furniture, toys, vehicles, buildings, and other detritus serve as a reminder of the lives that have been lived and forgotten. These “eighty-sixed” things and places also offer an opportunity for creative expression and exploration. Through these photos, I wish to capture the beauty and decay of the city in a in a truthful, unapologetic way that is both nostalgic and apocalyptic. I am attempting to offer a glimpse into the city’s hidden past and a reminder of the struggles that continue to shape its present.
